We are proud to announce a new cloud hosting location in Canada for Cortex™ Data Lake. We have listened to our customers’ requests for data residency in their region. Our expanded presence helps enable Canada-based and other regional customers to protect their digital assets from stealthy threats while also addressing their data residency and privacy needs. Canada-based customers can now collect, transform and integrate their security data locally with Cortex Data Lake

“We’re fundamentally changing the way our Canadian customers are able to secure themselves while meeting their privacy and data residency requirements with our continued investments in Canada in Cortex Data Lake, and soon our other cloud-based security services.” - Ivan Orsanic, Regional Vice-President, Canada.

Over the past several months, the COVID-19 pandemic has compelled many security teams to protect a growing remote workforce. Organizations have also accelerated their migration of business applications to the cloud. As a result, we have observed an increased demand from our customers in North America for local hosting Cortex Data Lake options to securely collect, manage and explore data. We are pleased to now be able to provide our customers in Canada with a local cloud presence for Cortex Data Lake.

“Cortex Data Lake is a fundamental service that powers Palo Alto Network’s offerings which allows our customers to benefit from security outcomes helped by AI and machine learning through access to rich data at cloud scale, and now we can do so while addressing data residency and privacy requirements in Canada.” - Victor Tavares, Systems Engineering Director, Canada.

Palo Alto Networks customers can also take advantage of our existing cloud-hosted service in Canada and in various other regions. Our new cloud hosting location for Cortex Data Lake reflects our continued investment in and dedication to addressing our customers’ data residency, security and performance needs.

Our Commitment to Security and Privacy

Ensuring the security and privacy of our customers’ data is our top priority. Investing in local cloud infrastructure is just one of the steps we take to help our customers stay secure wherever their data resides. Besides addressing privacy needs, all our products use industry-standard best practices for security and confidentiality, including application, system, network, and physical security.

Cortex Data Lake has reached the “In Process” milestone for FedRAMP certification and has also received SOC 2 Type II Plus certification. Read more about Palo Alto Networks regional cloud locations..
