AV-TEST Validated: Traps Can Replace Legacy Antivirus

Independent, credible testing plays a key role when making informed technology purchase decisions. Palo Alto Networks advanced endpoint protection offering, Traps, has undergone extensive third-party testing to validate its strengths in replacing legacy antivirus products.

AV-TEST, a third-party security testing organization with extensive experience testing endpoint security software – specifically, legacy AV – put Traps through the paces. This is the first time Traps has participated in AV-TEST tests, and Traps the only next-generation endpoint protection offering tested by AV-TEST in 2017.

Results showed 100 percent detection of real-world attacks, as well as the maximum score on performance, with AV-TEST stating, “… there was nearly no measurable impact on the newer system.” These results were achieved without any reliance on signatures.

This validation by AV-TEST follows the AV-Comparatives Approved Business Product award presented to Traps in October 2016. This is a continuation of the efforts made to build upon the foundation of third-party evidence supporting Traps.
